How Credit Repair Works

Many consumers believe that changing your credit report is not an option. This is simply not true. In fact all consumers should closely monitor their credit reports (get your credit reports for free!) as there are very likely questionable items on the reports. Federal law protects consumers and gives you the right to have inaccurate information on your credit report corrected. The credit bureaus do not take responsibility for the accuracy of their reports! This means it is your job to ensure your credit reports are accurate.

Although credit repair can be a long and difficult process, Lexington Law does the work for you. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) gives you the right to contact credit bureaus directly and dispute items on your credit reports. You can dispute any and all items that are inaccurate, untimely, misleading, biased, incomplete or unverifiable (questionable items). If the bureaus cannot verify that the information on their reports is indeed correct, then those items must be deleted.

Disputing items on your credit report should be easy, but many consumers give up before they ever see results. Learning the relevant consumer protection rights and formulating a statue-based argument can be time consuming and rigorous. This often leads to a feeling of helplessness when it comes to credit repair. For a low monthly fee Lexington Law does all of this on your behalf and usually gets results in 60 days.
